latimes:

Times’ producer Ben Welsh created PastPages, an hourly archive of the homepages of major news media organizations.

I created this site because I think it ought to exist. The shifting homepages of major media sites should be saved so they can be studied. Done right, I believe PastPages could serve as a resource for scholars seeking to study coverage of news events, like the upcoming U.S. presidential election.

I love when people think of great ways to archive media. This will make a descent research database for pop culture from the start of the 21st century as we begin to grapple with the digitizing of print media. The covers of magazines and newspapers are good examples of portrait art that can be used to analyze those the average person would have patterned themselves and their lifestyles after.

1980s version of Twitter /Google's Project Glass -

There is a great example of 21st Century contemporary pop art expressionism posted on SquirrelMonkey.com’s YouTube Channel on April Fools Day. This Microsoft DOS version of Twitter is complete with Function Key actions, and a 80s throw back horror flick reference with the Jeruselum B/Friday 13th Virus.

Thanks to @9bytz for first sharing the video on the 9bytz.com blog where I also found this video about Google’s Project Glass. An introduction to augmented reality glasses. I got goosebumbs when I saw this video! Google is going to help usher in the adoption of augmented reality as an everyday use. I really can’t wait to see this happen! Set my hands free and put my attention back on what’s right in front of me instead of staring down at my smartphone. Which celebrities will make this transition cool and trendy? How affordable will it be? How will this affect how we communicate in social settings? When will it be wrong to wear your glasses in public? So many changes, but this is a good time for change. I’ll tell you what they look great on everybody! Check out the photos on the Project Glass Profile on Google Plus.

I bet this will change how we learn and share information, one step closer to shared consciousness! This is all they are showing us right now but I’m sure it will eventually include mind control capabilities so that we can be more discrete and private about what we are doing in front of others.
