Please donate to this film. It is going to have its debut at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival but there are still several cost that need to be covered before they can rap a bow on it. Terence Nance, the Director of the film is a childhood friend of mine. I have watched him grow into a very talented visual artist. His mediums include video, film, graphic arts, and motion graphics, which are all present in this film. Please view the trailer to get a sense of how imaginative his mind is. This young man is an inspiration to all young cinematic visionaries and dreamers alike.
Check the synopsis below for more details and visit their Kickstarter profile to help bring his vision to completion. All contributions are recognized, even as little as a dollar. Film Synopsis: An Oversimplification of Her Beauty
You’ve just arrived home after a bad day…Scratch that…You’ve just arrived home after a bad month You’re broke, despite being too busy to shower most mornings. You’re lonely, even though you live in the biggest city in America. Generally speaking, you’re in a funk (and not just from lack of bathing). You do, however, have one cause for mild optimism. You seem to have captured the attention of an intriguing young lady. You’ve rushed home this particular evening to clean your apartment before she comes over. In your haste, you see that you have missed a call. There is a voicemail. She tells you that, she won’t be seeing you tonight… An Oversimplification of Her Beauty is a film that puts you in the shoes of an quixotic young man, as fantasies, emotions, and memories, race through his mind during this singular moment in time.
“With arresting insight, vulnerability, and a delightful sense of humor, Terence Nance’s explosively creative debut feature, An Oversimplification of Her Beauty, documents the relationship between Nance and a lovely young woman as it teeters on the divide between platonic and romantic. Nance creates an exquisite tapestry of live action and various styles of animation to delve deeply into his own young male psyche as he sweats and stretches toward maturity. The result is an exciting and original film that announces the arrival of a bright new cinematic talent.” - Sundance Film Festival
