Unlike a traditional TV, Haier’s Smart TV can interact with viewers via NeuroSky’s MindReader headset. NeuroSky’s brainwave technology can detect human brainwave patterns revealing a person’s mental state. The NeuroSky MindReader then translates the monitored brainwaves into digital signals that the television can recognize. The brain-controlled TV applications allow users to develop control over their concentration and relaxation abilities through entertainment applications. Haier’s Home Cloud Solution provides an exciting “Cloud Family” experience to consumers, a step into cloud service and a milestone in lifestyle change….The TV is scheduled to be released in October of this year in China at a price yet to be determined. - Posted by Richard Kastelein in Writers on September 02, 2011, Appmarket.tv
I’ve been waiting on this to happen since I was a little girl sitting with glazed eyes in front of a television believing that the glowing box connected to the wall held all the worlds secrets. I have a much more grounded realization of what and who creates the media, but this just brings us closer to shared or collective consciousness. The NeuroSky MindReader is already collecting our mental data, all that is necessary next is to make this data accessible to the viewers. We could see our collective interests, and no longer feel like puppets to the media and move in number to command what we watch. This sounds creepy to some but the idea of mind reading was introduced to us 40yrs ago in the media with StarTrek, Starwars, X-Men, Harry Potter, and the list goes on. This is very exciting and I’m not the least bit fearful, hell I’m looking forward to experiencing it. Until then search for me in the cloud…
